Help Papa Jimmy’s fight for recovery

Greetings. My sister and I are seeking assistance and prayers for our stepdad, Jimmy. He is currently hospitalized at Baylor Scott & White in Temple, Tx, fighting a rare brain infection, and we are still seeking answers from his team of doctors.
This all started on January 31, 2024 when Jimmy had a hip replacement. What was supposed to be an overnight stay, turned into a 12 day stay with many complications. He went home and struggled to get better because his bone and tissue never adhered to the hardware. During this time, we found out he was in Afib and would need surgery for that as well. There were many months of appointments and tests, but no real answers on why he wasn't improving. June 28, 2024 he was admitted to Baylor Scott and White in Waco, Tx because he began spitting up blood. The doctors first thought it was pneumonia and he was put on antibiotics. After a 2 week stay, tests on his heart and lungs, and draining fluid from his lungs, his doctors said he would probably need 2-3 more weeks of antibiotics and he was sent to S&W Continuing Care in Temple, Tx. Jimmy was still showing no improvement and having many other complications. On July 29, 2024 he was admitted to Baylor Scott and White in Temple and has been in and out of ICU. The doctors at this point have told us he is battling a very rare bacteria in his brain. He has absesses on his brain and has had mini strokes. He also has had fluid on his lungs and spine. They have done numerous tests and procedures, and are treating him with antibiotics, hoping to find out the exact cause of this and where the infection is coming from. That has proven difficult because he has been on so many antibiotics for a long period of time, most of the cultures from the tests have come back negative. Because of the infection in his brain, he has been very out of it and not able to speak well for a long time. We are praying the antibiotics they are treating him with now will work. This will be a long, and very difficult, recovery for him. He has been fighting so hard, for so long, and we are praying for his recovery and for answers.
Our mom, Joni, and Jimmy are both small business owners in Hewitt, Tx. Jimmy has not been able to work for months because of all the complications he has endured since first having his hip surgery. Our mom has stayed by Jimmy's side throughout all of this and hasn't slept at home in months. She has worked some, but has not been able to leave him when times have gotten really scary for all of us. These two people have some of the biggest hearts and are loved by so many. Our hope is that we can raise money to help them in this time of need for assistance with medical bills and such since they have had to take such a big pay cut, being small business owners.
Thanks to everyone that has called, texted, and prayed for our family during this difficult time. We appreciate you all!
