On December 16, 2025, our families world was forever changed when our beloved grandfather, Papa Earl, survived a devastating house fire that took everything from him. The fire completely destroyed his home and all of his belongings and tragically claimed the life of his cherished partner, Carmen. This unimaginable loss has left our family heartbroken.

Papa Earl is 84 years old, a lifelong native of the Upstate of South Carolina, and someone who has spent his life working hard and giving back. He worked for many years in the Greenville cotton mills as a loom fixer and proudly served our country as a United States Army veteran. He has always been a steady, dependable presence for his family, friends, and community — and now he is facing the hardest chapter of his life.

As a result of the fire, Papa Earl is starting over from nothing. He is currently staying with family, but his most immediate needs include basic necessities such as clothing, medications, a phone to stay connected, and a safe and stable place to live. In the weeks ahead, he will also need help replacing larger essentials, including transportation and other items required for daily living.
