Help Paola on her Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Mirrella. I am raising funds for my friend Paola. I have known Paola since 2011, from our college days. Since then, our friendship has blossomed and turned into a sisterhood. Please read her story below.
I was admitted to the hospital from 11/14/2020 to 04/06/2021. I spent 92 days in a medically self-induced coma and in a rehabilitation center the rest of the time. I have suffered from: COVID-19, pneumonia, sepsis, multiple infections, edema, a stroke, and a seizure. I have been on medications since then for anxiety, depression, and post-trauma. I am still learning how to walk and participate in outpatient physical therapy. Soon I will transition into pulmonary outpatient therapy. Within a couple of steps, I am short of breath. I am dependent on oxygen and the assistance of others for daily activities. However, I am not giving up, and I know that I will walk one day again. I will be off the oxygen and hopefully off some of the medications. My journey now is 16 months too long. I am not receiving any disability or social security assistance at this time. If you would consider donating $5 or any amount you can, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time and for reading my story.
