I’m reaching out because my cat, Pani, urgently needs eye surgery, and I can’t do this alone :(

Pani is my baby girl, she’s an 8-year-old Persian cat (turning 9 this September) who came with me from Iran three years ago. She’s more than just a pet, she’s my family here in the U.S. As an international student, I don’t have the financial support or stability to handle an unexpected medical emergency like this on my own.

Pani is one of the sweetest, most social cats you could ever meet. She loves sitting on her cat tree, watching birds and squirrels for hours, and observing everything happening outside the window. If you’ve ever met her you know she’s always been playful, curious, and full of personality.

Recently, she was diagnosed with a serious and painful eye condition called corneal sequestrum. It causes damage to the surface of her eye and requires surgical removal to prevent worsening pain and potential vision loss. Her condition has been progressively and aggressively worsening over the past three weeks.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve watched her change. Instead of sitting by the window or playing, she’s been hiding in dark closets and avoiding light Seeing her like this has been heartbreaking and emotionally devastating for me. I know she’s in pain, and I just want to help her feel safe and comfortable again :(

Her surgery is scheduled soon, and the total cost, including exams, medications, and the procedure, is more than I can afford right now as a student.

I’ve attached photos of her eye and the estimated costs for transparency. This does NOT include all the costs for diagnosis up until now, or post-surgery visits and or medication, which is expensive as well.
