After 27 long days missing in Sterling, during extreme winter weather and heavy snowfall, the impossible happened...Panda was found alive.
Panda is a beloved indoor/outdoor cat who disappeared in an area known for heavy coyote activity. As days passed and temperatures dropped, his family feared the worst. Then came the call no one expected, Panda had been found in a doghouse on someone's property. Through a microchip scan, the help of a local cat rescue and the kind folks who found him, Panda was coming home.
While we are beyond grateful for his return, Panda’s journey took a devastating toll. He is now facing extensive emergency veterinary care due to severe frostbite. Tragically, Panda has lost both of his ears, and his tail has been reduced to a small 3-inch nub with about an inch of bone exposed. Despite everything, he is alive, fighting, and back where he belongs...with his family.
The cost of emergency treatment, ongoing veterinary care, and recovery appointments is an unexpected and overwhelming burden. Every donation will go directly toward Panda’s vet bills and the care he needs to heal and live a comfortable, happy life.
If you’re able to donate, no amount is too small. And if you can’t, your positive thoughts, prayers, and sharing this fundraiser mean just as much.
Thank you from the bottom of this family’s heart for helping sweet Panda boy on his road to recovery.
For those who would prefer, you can pay directly to Soldotna Animal Hospital under Panda.
