Help Pancreatic Cancer Patient

My mom Amy was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer in June of 2019. Her tumor was covering over half her pancreas. With a very low survival rate in this form of cancer we didn't have much hope. She started Chemotherapy July 2 2019. She lost almost half her body weight and her muscle mass depleted.

She took her treatment at the University of Michigan Hospital  and the team of doctors there were fantastic!

They were able to remove the tumor after chemotherapy and radiation in March 2020. That is when the real battle began. This was a surgery that her surgery team came up with as a "Hail Mary" attempt to save my mother's life. Although the surgery was a success in removing the tumor, the after effects have been devastating.  Since March she has had multiple surgeries and hospital stays. Her stomach had split open in 3 places creating pockets because it was stretched so thin from the radiation it couldn't hold the staples.  One of those pockets created a fistula (a river-like pathway) going to her lung. As she tried to drink water, she was unknowingly drowning her self. Her body was so weak the doctors sedated her for 4 days on a ventilator so her body could rest and try to heal.

She crashed 4 times during the surgery to fix these pockets. She has been unable to eat or drink anything other then ice chips every few hours since then. She is starting to heal while on a feeding tube. There is finally a light at the end of this tunnel and everyone involved is so grateful for having more time with her. Amy has 3 children, 5 grandchildren and countless other family members, we are all very close and tight knit.
My mother is 48 years old. She has been married to my dad for 10 years this year.

This is my mom now 2020...

After all the time my dad has had to take off work for the appointments and hospital stays this past year, they are now drowning in medical bills on top of everyday bills and still raising my 15 yr old brother.
She started getting better, stronger every day. Gaining weight back, moving around on her own with ease. Things really were going in a positive direction. Routine appointment turned into a whole new nightmare.
My mom recieved the news of another tumor in her abdomen. The biopsy has confirmed it is Pancreatic Cancer for a 2nd time. The only option that may produce results is a new clinical trial that is 2 types of chemotherapy and a new drug.

She is inoperable. Clinical trials are risky considering we do not know all possible side effects or much of anything. All we know is there is a chance to improve quality of life and that's all my mom wants. She wants to live. She has been fighting so hard for so long now.

We will keep this updated though these clinical trials, your prays and thoughts are always appreciated!❤

Thank you so much for anything you are able to give!
