Pancho has always been a source of joy in our lives. My partner adopted him when he was only a few weeks old. He was malnourished, covered in fleas, and had neurological issues that made him struggle to walk or eat. With the help of our other cat, Suh, who immediately took him under his wing, Pancho grew into an energetic, loving, and strong-willed cat. Since then, Pancho has become an inseparable part of our family. Pancho is quirky, sweet, and incredibly vocal—he loves to hunt bugs and has the sweetest slow blinks we’ve ever seen. His extra thumbs (he has four in total!) make him even more unique, and we cherish every moment playing with his precious extra beans.

Recently, Pancho was hospitalized after we noticed he was struggling to use the litter box. The vets discovered a urinary blockage, and he’s now in the ICU. On top of this, Pancho was diagnosed with a heart murmur, which means he’ll need ongoing medication, an EKG, and regular follow-up appointments to monitor his heart health. The costs for his care are overwhelming, and we’re doing everything we can to make sure he gets the treatment he needs.

We’ve always tried to prepare for emergencies, but pet insurance has only covered a small fraction of the expenses, and our financial situation is stretched thin. My partner works tirelessly as a social worker and I work from home. Caring for Pancho, Suh, and our other cat Honeycomb is a labor of love, but right now, we need help to bring Pancho home and keep him healthy.
