Pancha was abandoned by her human family when she was around 8 years old. As she did with countless other dogs before, my friend Patty took her in and partnered with Forte Animal Rescue through their Outreach Program to find her a new home. Since Pancha is very cute, calm, and friendly—all in a fluffy little package—it didn't take Forte Animal Rescue long to find her a new loving home. Unexpectedly though, what first looked like a regular eye infection turned out to be a bigger issue.
Pancha now needs surgery (scheduled for March 19) to remove up to three decayed teeth, which are likely causing an infection and a weeping eye. While she is under anesthesia, the vet will also remove two small masses—one near her eye and one at her mouth—to be evaluated by lab biopsy. We are keeping all paws crossed and hoping that the masses are benign.
Even though my friend partnered with Forte Animal Rescue, as part of their Outreach Agreement, she is still responsible for covering the cost of Pancha's surgery and follow-up care. I'm organizing this GoFundMe to help her alleviate the vet costs and give Pancha the healthy, happy future she deserves.
Pancha clearly has an upsetting time behind her—having been uprooted, losing the people she previously trusted—along with some health issues that have caused her discomfort and pain. Your help will allow Pancha to be healthy and happy in her new home.
Any support you can give, whether through a donation here or directly to the vet (see details below) or by sharing this fundraiser, will make a meaningful difference for Pancha and her new family.
You may submit donations for Pancha's surgery directly to the San Gabriel Animal Hospital by calling (626) (two-eight-zero-four-zero-seven-zero).
Identify the donation as follows:
Patient: Pancha
Client ID 31956
Donations to the Hospital must be made by credit card and must be a minimum of $50. More than $50 is fine.
Thank you,
Patty & Dorit
