Help Pamela officially own the Coffee Stop - Wallingford
Donation protected
Nearly two years ago an opportunity came up to take over and rent an existing small business selling locally roasted coffee from Horsebox Coffee Co, a Roastery in Brightwell, cakes and snacks from a converted kiosk which was started by Lesley, on the site of Cholsey and Wallingford heritage Railway in Wallingford, Oxfordshire. At the beginning of the year, Lesley gave me another great opportunity to officially own The Coffee Stop.
Having started working at a tea shop from the age of 13 where I grew up in Henley, to now having been in catering for over 35 years, I have always had a dream of running my own cafe, so this is my first step to achieving that dream as there is also the potential of moving into the purpose built cafe at the Railway at a later date, in which I would be in the position to employ local people.
I enjoy running The Coffee Stop and I am looking forward to progressing and building the business further, with view of expansion whilst keeping the basic brand started by Lesley, using locally roasted speciality coffee from The Horsebox in Brightwell.
Since moving to Wallingford over ten years ago with my two children, I have found the community spirit and generosity of the townspeople heartwarming and supportive, and I have seen on many occasions people coming together in support of one another with all the regular events and community lead projects in the town.
I have built up a base of lovely customers (and dogs), with whom we have shared a lot of laughs and the odd tear, and a few of you have suggested I set up a Go Fund Me page to add to the funds that I have got so far. I would be really grateful for any support which would go towards me owning the business outright.
