Dec 17th - Pam & Kurt’s hopes for a relaxing quick trip to a Florida beach away from the Midwest certainly did not work out. After just a couple days, Kurt ended up hospitalized with severe Covid issues.
I’m sure everyone who loves and cares about Pam & Kurt is struggling as I am and want to be able to help in some way. I know everyone has been praying hard, but in addition, I’ve thought of another way we can help by using a GoFundMe account for Pam, to help with expenses that are climbing, while Kurt is in the hospital, and additionally with her being away from home and staying in a hotel each night, plus some food to eat. Any little amount you could possibly donate would help.

Dec 18th - Update from Pam & Kurt’s children:
Kurt and Pam work day in and day out and barely ever take time out of their business for themselves. Once a year they try to take a trip for their anniversary (Married 22 years January 2nd❤️) Kurt loves to go and spend time in key west with mom but this year they decided after a busy year to take a last minute trip to Daytona.
Kurt was admitted to the hospital on December 6th with Covid pneumonia stage 2 in Daytona Florida - 17hrs from home.
Throughout the last 13 days, Kurt is continuing to fight to stay with us. Kurt is currently on the ventilator and still struggling to keep his levels where we need them to be. Right now we are counting each maintainable day as a win.
With Christmas approaching we know mom is going to be needing all the love and comfort she can receive. Between us kids and Kurt’s sister we are trying to all be here with mom in Florida so she isn’t alone. We do know Kurt will be here for the next few weeks at minimum and will need extensive physical and speech therapy when he gets to leave.
Right now our goal is to get him stable off the ventilator.
Kurt is very sick and in critical condition. With that being said Kurt came into this a healthy man and that is working in his favor.
Night time seems to be the hardest for Kurt which is leading to no sleep for mom. We ask for prayers! We believe he can do this. We believe he is fighting to live. We believe so strongly In the power of pray❤️

Dec 19th - just as Pam’s girls & I were about to surprise Pam with the GoFundMe account, Kurt took a turn for the worst. We lost him this morning and he was just 57 years old.
He was the kindest most genuine person. As one of his kids said “he was so darn good”.
Now the family faces final arrangements and how to move forward with only my cousin running the business on her own plus incurring expenses during the extended stay in Florida and hospital expenses.
