Pam has always been like a second mother to me, and now she's another grandmother to my son. She's 64 years old and works each weeknight cleaning a high school, in addition to her full-time job during the day. Pam's had to work multiple jobs for several years now, as her husband had a severe spine injury, so she supports them both. She also still partially supports her adult son, who she raised as a single mother.

On weekends, Pam spends her time taking care of elderly aunts, uncles, and close friends (cleaning their houses, running errands for them, etc.). By far, she is the most selfless woman I've ever met. She is incredibly supportive, positive, and a true blessing to have in my life.

With Pam constantly working and focusing on others, she rarely took time to care for herself. Losing weight was just a pipe dream for her until she learned that her insurance would cover the cost for gastric sleeve surgery. Pam's surgery was in August 2021, and she has since lost 110 lbs. She eats extremely healthy now and regularly goes for walks on her lunch breaks.

In May 2023, she had a medically necessary panniculectomy (also covered by her insurance). She is very grateful for her weight loss but is still very self-conscious about her arms. She has a lot of extra skin hanging on her arms, making it a breeding ground for yeast. On a daily basis, she has to take Diflucan and use antifungal powders. The additional skin rubs against the sides of her body, causing pain and irritation. Her insurance will not cover the procedure to have this skin removed, and she cannot afford it herself. Nothing would make me happier than to watch Pam take this last step in her body transformation journey; no one is more deserving.
