My name is Dawn from The Green Pig Country Market and I am asking for help with a sad situation with the family of our long time employee Stephy. Steph has been a beloved part of our farm and family for many years.

Recently, Hurricane Melissa devastated her hometown Black River in Jamaica, leaving her family with nothing. Her mother, Pamella Foster, along with her two sisters and four nieces and nephews have lost their homes and all of their belongings. They are safe, but they’re now faced with the difficult task of rebuilding their lives from the ground up. Her mother, Pam has recently retired from her vegetable stand at the Black River Market after 35 years. The entire market and town have been destroyed.

Stephaney would never ask for help for herself, but those of us who care about her wanted to create a way for our community to lend a hand with this financial burden. Any contribution—big or small—will go directly toward helping her family get back on their feet, providing essentials like food, clothing, and shelter as they begin to recover and relocate away from the coast.
