In 2019 I adopted Paloma, she was rescued in pretty horrific conditions (see below photo of her initial rescue in medical) they said that Paloma required immediate medical care, when she was taken off of the streets she had seven wounds full of screw worms in her mouth, pneumonia, anemia and dehydration. I took her in as a foster which turned into me adopting her.
When I adopted paloma when she was only 11 months old, knowing her teeth were going to eventually cost me one day, however her life and blessings in our lives, was worth it!
Fast forward, its been 6 years with her and it's become clear, based on our vet visits, that she will be needing some teeth removed. While I work full time in front line services, I am also parenting a 15 year old as her sole parent, expenses in the city of Toronto has increased drastically over the last 5 years, however it seems wages in the field of work I am in, do not increase to adjust the cost of living.
Paloma is family to us, she lives a good life in our care, and I want to make sure that she never has to suffer again.
I am hoping that some of the expense of this surgery can be supported by my amazing community members and some friends/family, those who also love Paloma and take pleasure in knowing such a sweet kind spirited dog, with my own savings contributed - I believe there is a way.
Paloma will need to be sedated, have X-rays done, have 3+ teeth removed, require dental cleaning for the remaining teeth, including pre-post medicine and blood work - I am going to be depleting my full savings account currently, but that's not enough for the full estimated costs associated - last year I spent $1700 on a minor surgery, which I paid for on my own, this year, the help of others would be needed and appreciated.
We thank you for any big or small gesture given, from our family household to you!
