Help Pallavi’s Cancer battle
Donation protected
Please join us in rallying behind my sister Pallavi as she takes on her battle with cancer.
Pallavi’s fight began in May 2022 when she was diagnosed with Stage 2B Hodgkins Lymphoma, which was supposed to be completely curable. Pallavi went through many rounds of light chemotherapy and in December we got the news that some per cent of her cancer is becoming resistant to chemotherapy.
In January, she started another very strong chemotherapy and she was supposed to have a stem cell transplant. But on Feb 14, she got the news that cancer has become completely resistant to chemotherapy and cannot be cured.
This is her latest scan report:
She is supposed to start a new treatment which is supposed to slow down the progression of the Cancer and give her a few years to live. The treatment plan includes a new drug to the Australian market and is very expensive which is not covered by her insurance. The cost of the drug is AU$ 8000 per dose and she is supposed to have 34 doses 8000x34= AU$ 272000, this does not include her scans, blood tests and other outpatient services not covered by her insurance.
Even if she goes to India for treatment, this drug is not readily available in India. Only 2 hospitals in Delhi have it and the price of the 34 doses of the drug for her treatment is 1.5 Crore INR.
Being in a situation like this is very challenging psychologically as well as financially, putting her and our family in a delicate situation. For the last 10 months her living expenses, doctor appointments, scans, chemotherapy, and outpatient appointments have cost more than AU$ 50,000.
We have spent every last penny on her treatment and are struggling to get her new treatment started without the funds.
Pallavi has always had a healthy life and made good choices for herself: no drinking, no drugs, eating organic food and loving her life as a nurse. It was a big shock for everyone when we found out that cancer has decided to take a turn on her this time.
She is a loving and kind Nurse, who wants to get better so she can get back to helping people.
With all the gratitude in our hearts, we are asking for your contribution to help Pallavi access this new treatment as soon as possible. In this way, she can channel her energy into healing herself and not be worried about financial security.
