Elizabeth Barkat is a Pakistani cricketer who has been living, training, and playing cricket in Australia for the past six years. Over this time, she has dedicated her life to the sport, contributing to the cricket community and working tirelessly to build her future in Australia.

Elizabeth recently applied for the Global Talent Visa, believing her sporting achievements and long-term contribution would allow her to continue her career here. Unfortunately, her visa application was refused, placing her in an extremely difficult and time-sensitive situation.

She now faces two urgent options:

Engage a specialist barrister to challenge the refusal, or

Lodge a new visa application immediately to remain lawful in Australia.

Both options require significant legal costs, and time is critically limited. Without immediate support, Elizabeth may be forced to leave Australia, putting her cricket career, years of hard work, and future opportunities at serious risk.

Why We Are Asking for Help

Legal representation for immigration matters—especially at the barrister level—is very expensive, and Elizabeth does not have the financial means to cover these costs alone in such a short timeframe.

We are raising funds to help cover:

Immigration barrister and legal consultation fees

Visa reapplication or appeal costs

Urgent administrative and documentation expenses

Every contribution, no matter how small, will help Elizabeth take the next critical step toward protecting her future.

Why This Matters

Elizabeth’s story is not just about a visa—it’s about:

Six years of dedication to cricket in Australia

A talented female athlete striving to represent herself and her community

A dream that is at risk of ending due to financial and time constraints

With your support, Elizabeth can focus on what she does best—playing cricket—while fighting for her right to stay and continue contributing to Australian sport.
