Hello!
As a senior in high school getting ready to take on my next steps, I want to leave something lasting for the community that raised me and that I am so grateful for: Sebastopol Charter School. I want to help continue and grow the creative, innovative, and supportive environment that the school fosters, and I believe I am best able to do that through art.
I love murals. I think they make spaces more vibrant, connective, and alive. At Credo (my high school), we do a senior project, which is an open-ended opportunity for us to explore an area of interest and learn new skills. Mine is to paint a mural at Sebastopol Charter School with the intention of beautifying the campus and upholding the school values of mentorship, land stewarding, and creativity. The mural will be about 20 x 4 or 5 feet and will be of an eighth grader and their first-grade buddy looking out over the ocean, surrounded by flowers and plants native to California. Most of the painting and planning will be done by me, but I do plan on getting the help of some student volunteers from the Charter at an organized volunteer day (or a couple) where they can get involved in the painting and learn some of the process of putting up a mural.
All donations will go to helping purchase materials! (Paints, outdoor grade plywood panels to paint on, weather and UV protection, etc.). Your support is greatly appreciated!
