Help Paige recover from Hurricane Ian
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Heather Shambro. I’ve known Paige for 30+ years and we attended high school together in Missouri.
My friend Paige lives in the Fort Myers/Sanibel FL area with her 4 children (plus a friend of one of her sons who needed a home). Yes, she’s a single mother raising four kids and took another child into her home because that’s who she is!
On September 28th, 2022, Paige’s home—like so many others in the area—was ravaged by Hurricane Ian. Flood waters rose into her first floor, so Paige, her 4 kids plus bonus child, and their beloved dog retreated to the 2nd floor where they rode out the storm. Once the storm passed and the water receded, she found that her entire first floor was destroyed along with all of her belongings there. Her car is also a total loss. She was notified by her Flood insurer that none of the contents destroyed by the flood will be covered. (With exception of mechanical items.)
Since the storm has passed, Paige and her kids have been tearing out wet drywall, insulation, flooring, and personal possessions ruined by Ian’s flood waters. She still has no power, water, or a vehicle. In true Paige fashion, she still has her funny and sarcastic sense of humor through it all; only allowing herself brief moments to break down and cry it out. Her heart is also still as big as ever! On a walk to see neighborhood damage she invited a man she’d never met before—who lost everything—to come over and have a meal.
I am raising money for Paige to repair her home and rebuild her life. The funds will be sent directly to her for whatever necessities she and her children need. Water, food, cleaning supplies, personal items, construction materials, etc. This storm was a catastrophic and life changing event for Paige, her kids, and the community as a whole.
Please consider donating whatever you can to help Paige get through this disaster.
Thank you!
