Helping Paige Heal: Support for Vet Bills

Paige and her sister Bettie are the beloved shop cats at Bettie's Pages, a queer-owned indie bookstore in Lowell, MI. They love to greet guests and give all the best book recommendations.

In June, Paige was unfortunately injured after hours when her paw was shut in a door. Thanks to the quick actions of our neighbors, we were able to get to her and rushed to the emergency vet within the hour.

The overnight and surgery team were fantastic and immediately fell in love with Paige.

Luckily, they didn't need to amputate or do extensive surgery! Instead, she was fitted with a custom splint and I was able to take her home for 6-8 weeks of strict rest.

Not an easy task for a rambunctious, high-spirit cat used to a LOT of attention and interactions.

Between the initial stay, medications, and first 2 bandage changes, the vet bills have already added up to over $2,000... $2,215.57 to be exact... And we have weekly bandage changes yet to go.

This is on top regular yearly vet visits and then extensive vet bills for Bettie who has toxoplasmosis and requires extra care when her symptoms flare up.

We are all very much looking forward to the girls getting back to work!
