Please Help Paige Fight Glioblastoma Grade 4

Donation protected
This is our friend Paige and her children. Paige needs all of our help and prayers during this difficult time. Paige was rushed to the ER where she learned her sudden head pain was not related to her lupus or another clot but an aggressive type of brain cancer. Paige has Glioblastoma Grade 4.

Paige was transferred immediately by ambulance to the University of Penn where Dr. O'rouke and the neurology team removed most of the largest mass.

On Christmas Eve morning Paige began phase2 of the multi-phase treatment plan for her. In this phase, she was accepted to the Proton Beam Therapy at the Pearlman Center in downtown Philadelphia. She is traveling there Monday through Friday for radiation for the next six weeks along with oral chemotherapy and other medications daily during the same duration.

Overall Paige is still her happy optimistic self. Her pain and swelling are under better control today. She does still have some trouble with her phone, but she is managing around the house and adjusting to the loss of some eye-sight and hearing on her left side.
Some of the other side effects she has include short-term memory lapses and a heightened sense of smell. Her energy is as expected and comes in short spurts throughout the day. After her head pain, fatigue is what she battles most.

Her children already faced dozens of surgeries and hospital stays at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Many emergencies and each faced life threatening conditions to overcome. During those years Joe and Paige juggled never ending medical bills, it cost them a lot including their home, but through it all they remained there for each other and always prioritized being a family.
This family has been through so much together, it seems unfathomable and unfair Paige has Stage 4 brain cancer and this family is going through another medical hardship.

In an instant her children are caretakers. She says she plans to fight this with all the strength and resiliency she watched of Callie and Max. When we learned her greatest worry is the reality she may be the cause her family could fall back in medical debt again we decided to do more with this fundraiser.

Paige has made many sacrifices through the years and rarely complained. She loves volunteering and always putting the needs of others first. Our hope with this fundraiser is to put her needs first and her financial worry aside for a while. We want to ensure she is comfortable in her current home and possibly afford Callie and Max more time off to spend with their mom.

All funds raised will go directly to the Collins Family to support these hopes as well as her medical needs and hospital bills. No donation is too small as every contribution or sharing of this post will make a significant difference in keeping her comfortable and cared for.

A link to Paige's Facebook profile has been provided where we will continue to post photos and updates on her progress. Everyone is welcome to follow.

Thank you for the support you show here or have to Paige and her family already. We have seen firsthand her being overwhelmed by the kindness she has been shown.

Please continue to keep her in your prayers. Paige says this has been a very humbling, but grateful experience.

We would like to extend that same gratitude from each of us as well, THANK YOU.
