Eight years ago, I met the love of my life, and four years ago we got married. Just two months into our marriage, Pablo was diagnosed with kidney failure and immediately began dialysis. Since then, he has fought quietly every single day, rarely sharing his struggle because he never wanted to burden others. Despite the physical and emotional toll, he has continued working full time to support our family.
Over the years, we’ve watched dialysis slowly take a toll on his body. There have been frightening moments when his blood pressure suddenly drops during treatments, leaving him weak and exhausted. Recently, during his transplant evaluation, we received heartbreaking news: Pablo could wait another 4–6 years for a kidney transplant. Doctors warned us that because of the toll dialysis is taking on his body, he simply cannot afford to wait that long.
After testing, we received incredible news — I am a match and will be donating my kidney directly to my husband. This transplant gives us hope for more years together, more memories, and a chance for Pablo to truly live again instead of simply surviving from treatment to treatment.
As we prepare for surgery and recovery, we are facing financial hardship. Pablo will be unable to work while recovering, and I will also need time away from work to heal and care for him. Any donation, prayer, or share means more to us than words can express.
With love,
The Lozanos
