April 7th, 2025 we took our kitty to the vet because we noticed a sudden change in his weight. The vet said his kidneys were not doing the best and that he needed antibiotics. He weighed 7Lbs 3oz. After maybe 3 days, he began to regain some of his weight but it seemed like by the end of the week he looked just as small and maybe even smaller. On April 28th, 2025 we decided to take him for another check up and that’s when we received the most heartbreaking, devastating, and hurtful news. Pablo’s abdomen had two strange masses wrapping around his organs and there is infiltration in the kidneys. Turned out that this sounded like a case of kitty cancer known as “Lymphoma”. The vet urged and suggested to us that he needs to see a specialist so without hesitation we were referred to one and his case ended up being confirmed as Lymphoma. He ended up staying overnight at the animal hospital where he was to be examined and monitored. The next morning April 29th, 2025, we received a call from the oncologist and the doctor saying that he has a 50/50 chance of reacting good/bad after his chemotherapy and normally kitties with treatment can live from 3-9 more months depending on how the cancer is. We’ll know he’s feeling somewhat better once he starts eating more and returning to his normal day-to-day routine. So we took our chances with chemotherapy and steroids and luckily Pablo is still here with us but we don’t know for how long. So far, Pablo seems to be making a recovery regaining his strength, appetite, and the brave little confidence to be the joyful, playful, silly, cuddly, and shy kitty he was always was. We would like to further continue his chemotherapy and treatments as long as he keeps reacting positively so that he may have a great quality of life. Pablo recently turned 4 years old and we’ve had him since the day he was born (03/01/2021). We’ve watched him grow up his whole life and he’s always been the silly baby filling a our lives with endless joy, cheer, and laughter. Every day we make him feel loved and cared for, our eyes are always watching him, and we pray day and night together as a family. We humbly ask if anyone sees it in their heart to help us out, it will mean so much. Any questions or updates, feel free to contact me and we can give you updates daily with pictures and videos so that too can see how strong of a kitty he is .
As mentioned before, with however amount we raise, we would love to continue his chemotherapy and treatment as he is doing well. We are also raising money for a great memorial. We’d like to have audio, visual, and physical memorials made so that we can continue to hear him purr and meow every time we miss him .
