Help Pablo Beat Colon Cancer
Hi, my name is Danny Teng and I am fundraising for my dear friend Pablo Vigil. Pablo lives in Montevideo Uruguay. I have known him since 2010 when Pablo and I worked in the same team at Salesforce. Since then, we continue to keep-in-touch & work together. We also had the opportunity to meet with each other in person when he visited San Francisco to attend the 2018 Dreamforce event in San Francisco.
At work, Pablo is a software developer specializing in Salesforce development. He has mentored junior developers to grow. He is a great coworker who is always willing to help others to succeed. Outside work, he loves watching and playing soccer. He is also a big fan of Metallica and loves doing bbq.
On January 16 2021, Pablo was diagnosed with colon cancer. He bravely went through many painful treatments to remove the tumor with determination to beat cancer, such as Laparoscopy & several chemotherapy sessions and medications (Oxaliplatin, Bevacizumab and Capecitabine). Unfortunately, there has not been much success with the treatments thus far. The recent CT and PET images show that the tumor remained unchanged. Next, he will undergo a thoracoscopy to determine if the tumor has spread to the pleura, if yes, followed by surgery to remove the tumor from the appendix and the nodules in the peritoneum, with Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemoperfusion (HIPEC) treatment.
The surgery is not commonly practiced in Montevideo, Uruguay. Pablo will have to be admitted into Sirio Libanes hospital (Center of Oncology) located in São Paulo, Brazil. The estimated surgery cost is USD$ 65,000 and other medical treatments fee is USD $27,000. Pablo does not not have the fund to pay for it.
