Help Ozzy Overcome Seizures and Reunite with Sisters

Hi there, my name is Stefanie Puntillo. I am a Licensed Veterinary Technician and local cat rescuer/trapper. My current foster kittens, Ozzy, Lil Miss, and Trixie, have been with me for 3.5 months. They were found alone in a stream at about 2 weeks old. I spent my summer giving them around-the-clock care and loved every minute of it. They needed to be bottle-fed and stimulated to go to the bathroom. These three babies have become my daily routine since the beginning of summer.

This Sunday, Ozzy was in a very deep sleep. I took his sisters out to play and let him continuing sleeping. About 5 minutes went by, and when I went to check back in on Ozzy, I noticed him up and drooling. I thought he might be nauseous. Monday morning came, and he was snuggled on his blanket, sleeping, when he woke up in a complete panic, started running around, convulsing, and foaming. This lasted about ten seconds but felt like ten hours. He clearly had a seizure. I calmed him down afterward and got on the phone with my vet. Then another seizure. I grabbed Ozzy, and we went to VEG in White Plains. They took him right away. Blood work and X-ray were normal. He was given a dose of Keppra (anti-seizure medication) in the hospital and to go home with. He has been seizure-free until this morning. He had three. He is currently admitted to Guardian Vet Specialist in Brewster through emergency. They want to run more blood work, keep him on a seizure watch, do a spinal tap, and have an MRI tomorrow morning with a neuro consultation. When the bill was presented to me, I almost fell to the floor. I KNOW vet care is expensive, especially working as a tech in specialty. I understand, that's why there is pet insurance. Unfortunately, I am still in the waiting period, and this will now be a pre-existing condition.

My poor Ozzy deserves to be the happy kitten he was. He deserves to be back with his sisters (who have been comforting him so much!). Everyone who knows Ozzy loves him. He truly is the best kitten: snuggly, playful, handsome and well-mannered.

It is hard for me to ask for help, but I need help. Ozzy needs help. We need to get to the bottom of why he is having seizures. He is too young to give up on, and I would like to exhaust all options until a decision is made.

If you can, please donate to little Ozzy. No amount is too little. If you can't, just send a prayer for Ozzy.

Thank you ❤️
