Hi! My name is Ozzy, and I am a first‑generation college student currently studying Surgical Assisting at Chattahoochee Technical College. As someone who grew up navigating every step of the education system on my own, I’ve had to overcome many barriers, financial, academic, and personal, to get to where I am today. Every milestone I’ve reached has been the result of persistence, sacrifice, and the belief that my dreams are worth fighting for.
I am on track to graduate on July 31, 2026 and if I stay on course, I will begin working at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta in mid‑August after taking my national certification exam. I am deeply grateful to have received a scholarship that covers 100% of my tuition for the Spring and Summer semesters. However, the scholarship does not cover any retroactive balances, and I currently have an outstanding balance of $5,500 that must be paid by May 14th. If I cannot clear this balance, my account will remain delinquent, preventing me from registering for Summer classes and putting my scholarship, and my graduation, at risk.
I have overcome so much to get here, and having to step away from my education at this stage would be a setback that I’ve worked too hard to avoid.
As a full‑time student attending classes and clinical rotations Monday through Friday, I have very limited time to work and generate the income needed to cover my academic and personal expenses. Still, I show up every day with determination, especially during my clinical rotations at CHOA and Wellstar, where I am gaining hands‑on experience that reminds me why I chose this path.
My ultimate goal is to become a Physician Assistant specializing in pediatric surgery. After graduating from Chat Tech, I plan to continue my education at Emory University to pursue this dream and serve children and families who need compassionate care.
I am humbly asking for support to help me stay on track, complete my program on time, and continue breaking generational barriers. Any contribution, no matter the amount, brings me one step closer to becoming the healthcare professional I’ve worked so hard to become.
Your support means more than I can express, and it brings me one step closer to the future I’ve fought so hard for.
