Update:

After Hurricane Helene, many vet clinics here in Asheville have reduced hours and days of operation due to the lack of running water and unstable power. We feel very fortunate as our local vet just happened to be open on the day Ozzy began to have issues. They were unable to care for Ozzy when this obstruction did not resolve itself. We ended up taking Ozzy to an Emergency Clinic which thankfully was fully operational. Due to the uncertainty with water and power outages, we were extremely concerned that Ozzy would not survive this. On to happier news, Ozzy had his surgery and is recovering well after a few complications. We are anxiously awaiting the follow up visit in 2 weeks; hoping to get the medical all clear. Any and all funds raised will be used to pay for the surgery and recovery aftercare at our local MedVet clinic that performed the surgery. Ozzy spent a total of 9 days in the hospital and the care he received was outstanding. Our family appreciates all the assistance received so far and we will be paying it forward as we are able.

Hi, my name is Laura, Ozzy's mom. Ozzy, our 1-year-old orange &white kitty, was adopted 6 months ago from Sister Kitten Rescue in Asheville, North Carolina. Last week, it was discovered he had a urinary obstruction. He has been in hospital fighting a urinary tract infection as well as the obstruction. Today, he is in desperate need of a Perineal Urethrotomy Surgery to save his life. We have tried over the last week to remove urinary catheters and medically manage his urinary issues without success. This is the last option to save his life. Any donations are more than appreciated, and every little bit goes a long way.
