Help Owen Rebuild His Life and Smile

Hello, friends and family,

We are reaching out to you, first and foremost, to ask if you would lift our son & brother, Owen, up in prayer. He is going through a challenging season in his life, which just became more discouraging due to a bicycling accident. We are asking you to come alongside us and not only support him financially (due to the medical cost of surgeries) but most importantly encourage him emotionally and spiritually.

In July 2021, Owen married his best friend, and they made the move to Houston, TX, to allow her to pursue her dreams. Just shy of their 2-year anniversary, at the beginning of 2023, Owen’s partner had a heart change and wanted to pursue a divorce.

Despite the challenges of being in an unfamiliar city, he sought to remain faithful to his commitment of marriage. Ultimately, when things were out of his hands, he continued to pursue the Lord above all else. This in turn, left him feeling called to stay in Houston, in spite of this change that would impact the trajectory of his future. In this journey, Owen has continued to find purpose & peace in his new city. He is faithfully involved in his church, First Presbyterian Church of Houston, volunteering in the youth and being a part of the worship team, as well as continuing to immerse himself in the local community.

Recently, Owen was involved in a tragic bicycling accident that resulted in severe injuries, particularly to his face & mouth. In the accident, he fractured 9 teeth, which has not only been painful but also emotionally distressing. Due to the extent of the damage, he now requires immediate oral surgery to extract these broken teeth, restore the integrity of his jaw, and begin the year(s) long process of multiple surgeries for grafting and having implants & crowns.

In order to restore his dental health and beautiful smile, all of these procedures together, will cost Owen around $50,000.

As Owen’s mom, I find his fight to set himself in Houston, seeking to honor the Lord's call for his life there - despite a season of intense adversity - to be admirable, demonstrating incredible resilience and faith in Christ! I share all of this not only because he now has a long process of physical healing and financial burden; but more importantly, so that you have an opportunity to express, whether it be financially or through your prayers, how loved Owen is by his community, near and far. We are asking for your help to bless Owen by helping provide and lessen the financial burden of his upcoming medical/dental procedures.
