Help Owen Heal: Medical and Care Costs

Hello, my name is Alyssa Albers and I am raising money for my four month old nephew Owen. On Wednesday September 18th, at the hands of his daycare provider, he suffered a spiral fracture in his femur. This was not discovered until the next day when my sister took him to the doctor because she could tell something was not right with him. After X-rays, they confirmed the fracture. This was immediately flagged as a child abuse case because of the severity and type of break. Later on, after multiple scans, it was revealed he also had a subdural hematoma, consistent with abusive head trauma. The doctors have said there is no way to tell if there will be long term effects due to the brain bleed.

Owen had to spend 5 days at the hospital because of the severity of his injuries. The money raised will help with current and future medical costs. It will also go towards lost wages as my sister is having to stay home until he can be out of a specialized harness and new quality daycare can be found.

Owen is a happy, sweet four month old baby who did not deserve these injuries because an adult was having a bad day. This has been a nightmare for all involved. We want to thank everyone for their support over the last couple of weeks. Thankfully, he is in recovery but has a long road ahead of him.
