Help Owen Davidson Fight Cancer

Owen is a sweet and kind little 4 year old boy. He was diagnosed with Wilm's Tumor, a rare form of kidney cancer on November 13th. He will be under going several surgeries, chemo treatments and various other tests and procedures as part of his treatment. Any donations made will go directly to his parents (Kim & Sean) to pay for medical bills and to help with things like trips to and from the hospital.

Owen's story began with a routine 4-year old well visit. As part of the visit the doctor ordered a urine sample. The sample came back with trace amounts of blood. Repeat tests over a couple weeks showed the same. The doctor then ordered what was supposed to be a routine abdominal ultrasound just to make sure everything looked fine. Kim took Owen for the ultrasound on the morning of November 7th. That afternoon the doctor called to say that they needed to take Owen to Johns Hopkins as soon as possible because a mass was found on his left kidney. At that time no one really knew what that meant. The hospital wanted to do a bunch of follow up tests and review everything to make an informed diagnosis. 

After several tests and a very stressful night in the hospital, they found that Owen had a 4 cm tumor on the bottom of his left kidney and a smaller one on the top of the same kidney. Owen was sent home to wait to be scheduled for surgery. The doctors then spent the next several days reviewing his case as well as consulting other experts around the country. 

Within a week, the oncologist at Johns Hopkins called with the diagnosis, Wilm's Tumor, a rare form of kidney cancer. The oncologist’s recommended treatment plan is 6 weeks of chemotherapy to shrink the tumors followed by surgery, a partial nephrectomy, to remove the tumors and then more rounds of chemo as well as radiation following surgery.
