Please Help My Mom Rebuild After Hurricane Melissa

Hey everyone, I’m Owayne. I’m raising funds to help my mom, who has been hit hard in the past 18 months. When Tropical Storm Beryl came through Jamaica last July, she lost almost everything. She was slowly trying to rebuild, starting over from scratch… and then Hurricane Melissa hit a few weeks ago and took the little she had managed to get back. She’s starting over all over again. I moved to the U.S. a little under two years ago, and while I’ve been sending money home to help her, I’m still getting on my feet. With an infant born this year and me only starting work in March, I could really use some extra support to better help her.

My mom is hard of hearing, which already makes it difficult for her to find and keep steady work. She does her best, but it’s been incredibly tough and these storms have made things even harder.

Right now she needs help with:

Basic essentials (clothes, bedding, small appliances)

Food and daily living items

Temporary housing and repairing where she was staying

Just getting back on her feet after losing everything twice

My mom is one of the strongest, most humble women I know, but this has been overwhelming. Anything you can give would mean so much. And if you can’t donate, even sharing this would help a ton.
