On October 17, 2025, I was driving and suddenly lost all feeling on my right side. I was with my son, and he called 911. I was rushed to the emergency room; my blood pressure was extremely high, and I was under a stroke protocol. After 4 hours of trying to get the BP regulated, I was taken for a head CT and rushed to the ICU. The first 24 hours were very critical, and I was monitored nonstop. I was taken to an MRI where it was confirmed I had a stroke. The feeling in my arm started to come back, but my leg was completely paralyzed for 40 hours. I’ve begun to get feeling back, but am unable to walk without a walker and can only walk short distances. My brain and leg/foot are not yet working together, so I am having to learn to walk again. They are still (4 days later) trying to get my BP regulated.

Unfortunately, I was without insurance at this moment. I will need to take care of some of the bills, medications, physical therapy, a walker, and help with household bills as I won’t be able to work until I’m completely able to walk and my BP is fully under control. Not sure how many more days I have in the hospital, but hoping to do most recovery from home.
