Employed as a shift manager for a large retail pharmacy chain in Charlottesville. Having stomach problems over the last several months, my pain and symptoms had become so great that I checked myself into the emergency room three weeks ago. I was diagnosed with stage four liver cancer. I’m down to around 150 pounds from my long-time weight of 200 pounds. I’ve had two surgeries so far. After ileostomy surgery to bypass and install a colon bag, I’m in less pain and I’m able to eat. The week I had a second surgery to install ports in my chest for chemotherapy treatments. Deductibles, co-pays, medical bills, colostomy supplies, pharmacy, house rent, electric, propane, food, and the expense of multiple weekly hospital appointments are piling up. The help of my family, friends, and medical workers has been overwhelming. I humbly thank you all. Trying to balance it all: proper rest, limited exercise, eating balanced meals, and living alone.

Regardless of my present insurance it has yet covered so many things, such as a home care nurse, transportation to appointments and multiple other expenses. 

I am determined to fight this battle, despite how long it may take. I asked that my friends and family rally in my time of need.
