Thyroidectomy infections: i need help

Donation protected

Nine months ago, I started feeling terrible. From joint pain, to emotional anguish, rashes, severe itchiness, fatigue, and many more symptoms, at times debilitating. I was finally diagnosed with Hashimoto's, enlarged thyroid with goiter. It was pressing against my trachea and surrounding areas, including the top of my lung.

Last Wednesday, I had a thyroidectomy. It was difficult to take out as it was. Riedel fibrosing thyroiditis is a rare disease characterized by chronic inflammation and fibrosis of the thyroid gland. It is also known as Riedel struma, ligneous struma, or chronic invasive fibrous thyroiditis. It was a successful surgery. I felt much better; some symptoms went away instantly. Unfortunately, Tuesday night, the day before getting my drain out, going to work, and starting my new lease on life, an awful infection infiltrated my neck.

I was rushed into the OR to clean it out

I'm currently on day two in the hospital.

I was not prepared for any more time off than a week.

I need help, it's a hard ask for me. I'm hoping to be back at work in a week. The bills won't wait. Thank you for reading.
