update: It truly hurts my heart to ask for help, especially after the holidays. When i moved back to GA from Texas, i had no idea how grueling the following months would be. On top of everything, one week ago, I found out that am required to leave my current housing situation by January 2nd. Because I have almost $150,000 in medical bills, every home I apply for requites an enormous security deposit, plus first and last month’s rent. I simply do not have it because of how little i have been able to working being in and out of the hospital. At this point I am praying for a miracle before I end up homeless.

This isn’t something I ever imagined myself doing, but this season of life has been incredibly challenging. After moving back home from Texas, I was admitted to the hospital for pancreatitis just three weeks later—having no idea how difficult the months ahead would be.

Over the next 90 days, I was hospitalized four more times, totaling over 35 days in the hospital. The weeks in between were filled with excruciating pain and days where I was completely unable to work. After my fourth stay, my body finally started to stabilize and I was able to take on a delivery job, working 12-hour days every day just to catch up from the months I was out of work.

Just as things began to improve, I was unexpectedly hit with appendicitis. Completely unrelated to my previous health issues, it came out of nowhere and required an emergency surgery.

With medical bills now totaling six figures and needing more time to recover before I can work again, getting through the holidays and back on my feet is going to be incredibly difficult. That’s why I’m swallowing my pride and reaching out for help.
