Help deal with Kidney Failure & Financial Strain in Hospital

Donation protected
So, as a lot of you know, I have been a type 1 diabetic for about 12 years now, and it’s not necessarily as controlled as it should be. Unfortunately, that has caused a slew of other problems.

My kidneys are now front and center, and I have kidney failure occurring, which is causing my entire body to go haywire on the inside.

On March 19th I had a seizure, fell, and banged up my legs, feet, and knees pretty bad and was admitted to the hospital unconscious. I won’t get into the specifics of the travesty that I had to endure for the first six days at Largo Medical, but I left on my own and came to Morton Plant on March 24th, and I will be forever grateful that I did. They have run all types of tests, including CAT scans, ultrasounds, biopsies, etc. In all, I’ve needed 7 blood transfusions because I am losing blood, and the doctors are not sure how. Also endured 5 separate surgeries. The blood loss is something that we are trying to figure out as I am still in the hospital and see no end in sight at the moment. The running theory is if I keep losing blood and my kidneys are not healthy enough to make new red blood cells, that could potentially be fatal. We’re doing a kidney biopsy Monday and I will keep everyone updated on those results.

I am very blessed and thankful to have the support of a handful of people during this time. However, as my bills continue to pile up, including bills surrounding my vehicle, insurance, maintaining my vehicle, rent, and other monthly expenses as well as getting into a rehab for physical therapy and dialysis, which is difficult with no health insurance, and getting on the kidney transplant list which costs money as well. I do need a little extra help. I’m stuck in here and cannot work, and at the moment, I need to be able to fully focus on my health before it becomes too much, not to mention whatever hospital bill-related things, including specialists and medications once I get discharged, that I will have to pay for because I have no health insurance.

I’m making this solely in an effort to take some of the burdens, at least financial burdens, off of some of the people supporting me and myself and allow me to focus on getting better so that I can return to my life. Anything at all that can be donated or provided would be an amazing gift that would allow me to maintain my life while being able to focus on my health in the hospital so I can focus on getting out.

Other issues the problem with my kidneys is causing besides blood loss are high blood pressure, poor water retention, veins have collapsed in numerous areas, and normal regulation of other faculties are being negatively affected. They ran out of places to put the IVs in ICU, so I ended up needing a central line, which is an IV they put into the side of your neck in your jugular because they were running out of places to put them.

This is all very overwhelming and scary, and I’m just trying to eliminate the everyday stress of texts and emails telling me which bills are due that I can’t pay at the moment. Anything at all helps, and I appreciate and am very grateful for any support that can be provided. I will try to update as we move along. If you have any further questions or would like to know something I did not answer, feel free to private message me, and I will give as much information as I can. Thank you so much in advance, and take care of yourself because you don’t know how important health is until you don’t have it.
