I became an employee for the State of Michigan in 1995. I worked there for 27 years as an IT Programmer/Analyst, developing systems for several state agencies, including the Michigan Public Service Commission and the Michigan Liquor Control Commission. I received the express thanks of Governors Jennifer Granholm and Gretchen Whitmer. I worked loyally and faithfully to support some of Michigan's largest agencies and the citizens they served.

About two years ago, I began noticing strange problems. I developed difficulties walking, and problems affecting memory. I could remember my home phone number from 1975, but I could not remember my current cell phone number!

My memory problems prevented me from performing capably and reliably, in a job position that I had held for several years, earning promotions along the way. Because my difficulties were difficult to diagnose, I was not thought to be suffering a disease, but a disciplinary problem!

This problem continued, until I took time off, under the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) to have my problem diagnosed. I quickly learned that 12 weeks is not enough time to be seen by multiple specialists. I was waiting three months, just to be seen by *one* doctor!

My employer grew impatient with my progress in getting a diagnosis and fired me. Now, I had lost my job, my retirement and my insurance, and any hope of being rehired. I am now trying to pay off a thirty-year home mortgage -- with just $5K left to pay it off -- all while dealing with the stress of medical debt, and no way of paying my bills!

Any help will be sincerely appreciated. Whether you can contribute $5 or $5,000, it all adds up, and will help me get back in the game, and help others -- as they have helped me and my family, in their time of the most dire need.

If you can help me by pointing others to that need, I may stand a chance.

Thanks for your attention, and your support.
