On June 15, 2025, my life changed in an instant. I was driving home from work on I-10 East when I was violently rear-ended by a speeding Suburban. The impact sent me into the car in front of me — and a split-second later, a Toyota Tundra struck me on the driver’s side, knocking me unconscious and slamming my car into the highway barricade. It was a wreck I had no control or fault over. The photos on this page show what was left of my vehicle.
I was in shock and only went to urgent care. Once test results came back, I was rushed to Memorial Hermann with severe internal injuries. I had lacerations to my spleen, liver, and kidney (that would later be operated on), a collapsed lung, spinal fractures, pulmonary effusion, a cracked rib — and later, I required emergency heart surgery.
I spent 20 days in the hospital, most of them in constant pain. I left with a walker and am still recovering today. I can now walk short distances with a cane, but my body is far from healed.
Before the crash, I supported myself by working multiple jobs: as a massage therapist, a photographer, and in TV production (sometimes all in the same day). I was always on the go — carrying my massage table to clients’ homes, hauling camera gear to shoots. Now, with limited mobility and no vehicle, I can’t work. I can’t generate income, and I’m watching the life I built slowly slip away.
I'm asking for help to cover basic living expenses — rent, utilities, and essentials — for the next three months while I continue to recover. Anything raised beyond that will help me purchase a reliable vehicle, so I can return to work and begin to rebuild my independence.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. If you can donate, please know that every dollar makes a real difference.
