Help Overcome Healthcare Hurdles

After becoming self-employed, Tessa went without insurance due to the rising cost of healthcare. She was paying out-of-pocket for routine wellness care until health issues arose. Now, even with insurance she can afford, she still faces constant barriers to getting approval for necessary procedures and tests to determine the cause of her illness.

She has had procedures canceled while already in pre-op, costing her astronomical amounts out of pocket. Lab tests ordered by her doctor were denied for payment, and essential medications weren’t covered. These are just a few examples of the ongoing struggle.

For months, Tessa has fought this battle as her health and weight continue to decline. The reality of not being able to afford to stay healthy is devastating. Yet here she is—trying to live, while slowly fading.
