Hi everyone!

As some of my friends and family know I've been in the process of trying to get hired with Air Traffic Control for about a year now. I'm at my last big hurdle which is an evaluation called a HIMS Assessment, which is required because I have a history of depression and anxiety (who doesn't these days?), and the FAA needs to make sure I am mentally healthy and fit to be a controller. I have completed therapy several times throughout my life as needed and feel I should pass this assessment.

The issue I'm currently faced with is the financial strain this poses because the FAA does not cover the cost of the assessment at all.

The only doctor in the Phoenix metro I can see is out-of-network, and out-of-pocket without the option to do a payment plan. Dr. Faria's evaluation is $2500, and there isn't a guarantee she can make her determination in only one appointment. I am hoping one session will be enough, but I won't know until after the initial one.

I have about $600 saved and plan to put the rest on credit. We've had two pet emergencies this year that really ate at our family savings, so unfortunately I'm looking at having to put more on my credit card than expected.

There's absolutely no pressure to give as I can put the majority of the cost on credit, but less long term financial burden would be an immense stress relief for myself and my family.
