In the winter of 2014-2015, when the biggest Ebola outbreak in history was working its way across West Africa, killing more than 10,000 people, Brima Sesay , a young medical graduate, born and raised in Sierra Leone, stepped forward and volunteered to work in the Ebola treatment centers run by International Medical Corps.

Now Dr. Sesay is fighting COVID-19 and working to improve his medical education and obtain his Masters in Medicine in Obstetrics at the University of Nairobi, Kenya.

We (Drs. Ramona Sunderwirth  & Joel Selanikio , creators of this campaign) were among the foreign doctors who worked with Dr. Sesay at that time.

We worked with Dr. Sesay and saw his selflessness, courage, and dedication to his patients and to the art of medicine.
