**NO ONE IS INJURED!!**

But it is still a sad day for ZRC. Around 11:30pm on July 19th a very intoxicated 18 year-old made the decision to drive drunk & smashed into our camp van which sits parked in front of the skatepark. The force of the crash & very high rate of speed spun the van into the building causing a lot of damage. The driver is ok & was released but the van is definitely totaled. The building will need a structural engineer to assess damage and will take a lot of time and money to repair.

We have great insurance but in this situation where the driver is fully at fault we are at the mercy of HIS insurance.

Our camp schedule and daily operations have been upended in our busiest time of year. We are paying everything out of pocket until there is a resolution. We are hopeful for a good insurance outcome but we have a lot of cleanup & work that needs to be done now. If you want to/are able to help we could really use it.

Any money not used to help with this situation will go directly to Blake’s Backyard which is our memorial ramp project for our friend & employee Blake Darocha who took his life in November of 2024. We had planned to pour the concrete for that ramp later this summer & we have been looking forward to honoring our boy in this way. Please know that no matter what any funds raised will work to support the ZRC community & all who benefit from it.
