Hello,
As many of you may know, our dad had a brain aneurysm back in May. We are extremely lucky and thankful that it did not take his life, but we knew it would be a long and painful recovery that involved an invasive brain surgery. He was on the mend following his initial surgery when an air pocket formed inside of his head, as well as spinal fluid leaking through his nose which ultimately required a follow-up surgery. After completing the 2nd surgery, his life was finally returning to near-normalcy. He was able to start up work again and learn to live a new way of life.
Fast forward to about a week ago, our dads face began swelling so he was sent back to the hospital. They found an infection inside of the surgical location. He was admitted and told they would need to do an emergency surgery as soon as possible. This surgery was as extensive and scary as his original surgery, if not more so. They unfortunately had to remove a piece of his skull that they believe was causing the infection due to rejection. Removing that piece now means he has nothing protecting his brain. He will not be able to return to work in any capacity until they are able to complete a follow up surgery in a couple of months to replace that part of his skull with a metal plate. He will, for now, be unemployed with no way to provide income.
With all this being said, he does not have any form of disability insurance. He will have to try and find some form of state insurance to cover some surgical expenses for the time being. Insurance will not cover even a fraction of the medical bills that have been stacking up nor the future surgery that is required. My moms income alone will not cover the medical bills nor the day-to-day expenses that accumulate when you usually rely on two incomes. Our dad isn’t someone to ever ask for handouts and he is adamantly against this request for help. He has always able to provide for our family no matter what. In this tough time, we have no other option but to ask for some help from friends and family.
We set the total at $10,000 but we truly do not know how much we will need. Any little bit will help in getting my family back on track. Please keep our family, and most importantly our dad, in your thoughts and prayers for the foreseeable future. Also thank you for taking the time for reading this. This has been set up by Jeffrey and Amanda(his kids) and any questions feel free to reach out to us)
