Help Save a Beloved Cat Slipper

Our cat suddenly became unwell choking and struggling to breathe one night. We took her to our vets who thought she may have a grass seed stuck in her throat, but she become even more unwell, and had to be admitted a day later. Our local vets tried their very best, still trying to locate and flush out whatever blockage they thought was causing the problem, but 24hrs later she was now critically ill. They said the only hope was for her to go to a specialist animal hospital, and they got her accepted to Langford’s in Somerset.
Slipper was extremely poorly at this point and we were told the next 48hrs were critical. She made it through with round the clock care. And tests revealed she was actually very unwell with primary and now secondary conditions like pneumonia, anemia, throat ulcers and some conditions I’d never heard of. Thankfully the long term prognosis was good, all can be treated or cured. Which is why we have continued to have her treated, at no point has putting her to sleep been something the vets have suggested. We thought £7,500 of insurance was a more than adequate limit for anything, but that figure was surpassed within a week. Her costs are £650 a day on average currently.
We visited her today, unfortunately she has not made as well as a recovery as the vets were hoping, and she has now not eaten in almost 2 Weeks and is becoming weaker so a feeding tube needs to be in place for her. This is another £800 procedure. And we don’t have a date in sight for when we may be able to bring her home.
We will pay whatever the final figure is, because at 1 years old she has not had enough of a life for us not to fight for her to have more time. And she has fought so hard for us, so we will fight for her too, that’s what family is.

We greatly appreciate every donation that our friends have made to help.
Slipper has said she will in return, give the opportunity for anyone to come and visit her and give her a belly rub, as a thank you, when she is feeling better.
Most updates we get from the vets include that she rolled over and presented her belly for a rub upon examinations.

Thank you
