On 6/26/20 Lush owners: James, Brian, and Ken fired all employees in the form of a public facebook post. They didn't even have the decency to hold a meeting, or even send out a formal e-mail.
Lush employees have been promised for months now that we will be getting our jobs back once we could safely open again. Instead on the weekend of what is usually Pride, they decided to throw in the towel when things got too hard. They were being challenged on their business practices by the BIPOC community, an important thing to address right now. Instead of actually hearing people out and going over a list of demands, they fired everyone and are "encouraged to apply again" once we reopen.
This has left many of us worried about how we are going to make a living now. This fundraiser is to help our folks with financial needs while we try to put ourselves back together.
This wasn't just a job to many of us. This was our home and our community. We were only worth a public facebook post at the end of the day.
I am aware that there was an initial fundraiser for Lush employees when COVID hit, but many people did not see any of this money. There was no information provided, other than that it existed.
This fund will be split evenly between ALL former Lush employees which is about 50 of us.
Please contribute what you can and I promise it will be appreciated.
Thank you.
