Help out family get through our daughters surgery

Hi. My name is Savannah hill and I’m at a loss.

I don’t normally ask for this kind of thing. Our family likes to figure things out on our own.

but my daughters surgery is in February, and my biggest worry is that my husband will not be able to take off of work for my daughters surgery, hospital stay, and at least some of her recovery.

my daughter Amara has a rare form of craniosynostosis. and because of this, she has to have open skull surgery. She needs half of her skull taken out and her orbital sinus. As well as a cyst taken out of her throat during the surgery. Which you can imagine is a lot on a 7 month old.

we are terrified. And the only thing we can think about is “how are we going to make sure 1. One of us can be home with our two year old when we’re making no money with that time off? And 2. How are we going to feed ourselves, and our daughter during this time if the sole provider of this house can’t work until Amara is home from the hospital?

when all we should be thinking about is the health and well-being of our youngest as she goes through this. All we need is a little help staying on our feet while our daughter is in the hospital. We live paycheck to paycheck. I stay home with our kids because childcare is ridiculous. My husband works hard to make sure we have food on the table.

I hope this isn’t a dumb thing to ask. I’ve never done this before. All I want is for us to not go further into debt during this time. I hate asking for help. And I really want my husband to be able to have this time off of work to be with our kids and I during this time. Every day I have an aching feeling about amaras surgery. It gets worse and worse as we get closer to the date. I need my husband to be able to take this time off to be with us at the hospital. I can’t do it alone. But money runs the world. And we can’t afford even a week of no pay. Especially after he was forced to take time off for the holidays with no pay. I feel like I’m over explaining this because I don’t want to feel shame for asking for help haha.
