Help Out Comic Envy!

So, I hear you saying to yourself, “a gofundme for Comic Envy?” Yeah, that is what this is. And I will be honest, it is not easy for me to ask for this.
For over 11 years, Comic Envy has been home to me, Allison, Sara, and Nicki; and most importantly our regular comic loving community. I have NEVER thought of the store as just a business. Yes, it provides me with an income, but I can get that anywhere. What it has given me, and I hope a lot of you as well, is a sense of COMMUNITY.
I can not express the gratitude I have for the camaraderie and friendship I have with so many of you. Some of you have watched as my daughter, who was born when the store was just a couple of months old, has grown from an infant to nearly a teenager. Comic Envy is my home and I hope that comes across in how I invite everyone of you in.
I could write a thesis on the hows and whys I am asking for help, but I am going to try to keep it simple. We are going on 5 weeks without any new product being released and new books will not be available until the end of May. That is two months of reduced sales while I have had to continue paying ALL of the bills and incidentals for Comic Envy. That was not a problem for April, but it has become much more so looking forward to May and into June.
At a minimum, Comic Envy has over $12,000 of expenses from May 1st through June 1st. This includes two months of rent, which unfortunately will not be reduced, as well as the invoices for new comics at the end of May.
None of these expenses would have been a problem prior to the seismic shift in society. COVID-19 has upended and decimated so many small businesses. I have applied for every grant and loan that I have been able to find. Unfortunately, so have millions of other small business owners. We were not a recipient for the first wave of PPP and have no way of knowing if we will be for the second wave. I have yet to receive any loan or grant for the store.
Which leads me to asking all of you for help in these unprecedented times. My community and my supporters. Comic Envy is NOT going anywhere. This is just a request for help to get back on the horse as the economy slowly starts back up.
Thank you all for reading this and for any help you can provide. If you can not donate, please share it on social media. That would be a HUGE help. It is no exaggeration when I say every little bit will help. Thank you to everyone that has been doing curbside pickup and ordering online. That has been a huge help with Thalia’s and my personal security, along with keeping my staff safe.
Please continue to take care of yourself and your loved ones. We will all get through this together!
