Help out Bugsy after his partial lung removal!

Hello! Thank you so much for clicking on this Gofundme! My name is Brooke and I made this to help my good friends Megan and Brian who recently had a big scare with their sweet dog Bugsy. Meet Bugsy -
Bugsy was fostered by Megan and Brian back in 2020 and they could not resist his big brown eyes and fell so in love with his sweet character they ended up adopting him! In 2022, Bugsy and his family moved from Washington State to Tennessee. Here is a photo of their honeymoon camping trip down to the South
Bugsy and his brother Oliver have adapted to the south well and enjoy the warmth and sunshine ☀️ Suddenly on January 20th Bugsy started limping and did not want to eat. He was diagnosed with Ehrlichiosis, which is a disease from a tick bite. Curable with antibiotics, he was on his way to recovery until he started coughing up blood the following Monday morning. He was taken to the vet and they were very concerned for a lung torsion on X-ray - a part of his lung was possibly twisted. This is very uncommon in dogs and they are unsure of why this happened to Bugsy. After a two hour trip to a bigger vet hospital Bugsy had to get sedation with a CAT scan to confirm this torsion.
The only fix was a partial lobectomy- Bugsy had to have his middle lobe of his lung removed. On 1/25 he had his big surgery and did wonderful. He had to stay 3 nights in the hospital post surgery and has a 12 inch incision on his side.
Bugsy is back home and thriving. His other lobes in his lungs should compensate just fine for his missing one!
Let’s help out Bugsy’s mom and dad, Megan and Brian, in this stressful time. The funds will help pay for the hospital bills, anything helps! We will be running a 10k for Bugsy on April 22nd and aim to raise as much as we can by that date! Thank you! ❤️
