Help out Adam and Malaki
A lot of people come and go in our lives. They're high school friends. Or co-workers. Or friends of friends. Or neighbors. Roommates.
Adam Llanos is not one of those people. If you've ever met Adam, he's likely left a permanent mark on your life. He's the shoulder you cried on, the friendly face when you were nervous as hell, the wingman when you met your significant other, the confidant when no one else was there, the partner in crime for your crazy idea, the groomsman in your wedding.
Whether you spoke with him yesterday or ten years ago, he's one of the few people in your life who would be there for you tomorrow if you needed something and ask for nothing in return.
Well, today, he needs us to be there for him.
On Friday, November 1, Jessica Paar, his fiance and mother his son, Malaki, passed away unexpectedly, leaving Adam as a single dad of an 8-year-old son.
For the last two years, Adam's been working as a Student Activities Coordinator at the University of Pikeville in Kentucky, sending money home every month to Jessica and Malaki and saving up so that he could eventually bring his family back together again. But now, he needs help starting a new life with his son that no one could have planned for. And if you know Adam at all, you know he would never ask for help from anyone, no matter how much he needed it.
As they start this new journey together, they're going to need all the support we can give, support that Adam would never ask for himself.
Let's help get their new normal started on the right foot. Here's what they need sooner rather than later:
Funeral and memorial services for Jessica
Groceries and household cleaning items
Household maintenance projects - fixing broken locks and windows, etc.
A car (they don't have one right now)
Family counseling support
Every little bit would be a tremendous help to both Adam and Malaki. Let's show him exactly how many lives he's touched over the years, and show Malaki exactly what an amazing role model he has in his life.
All donations will be deposited in my bank account so that I can ensure every penny goes directly to helping Adam and Malaki start this next chapter as soon as and as smoothly as they can. I'll be managing these funds directly with him so that we're able to best prioritize their needs, secure the most favorable interest rates and purchase the lowest cost items.
