Hello Friends
            At the start of 2021 our dear friend Nina received a diagnosis of breast cancer.  We are raising funds to help  while she goes through Cancer treatment.  Her surgery is scheduled for March 17.  Nina will have to cover a $8500 USD deductible (that means she needs to pay herself) before her insurance covers treatments and co-pays.  
          There will be additional health care expenses, taxis, unexpected expenses not covered by insurance.   In addition,  she still has past legal fees, and extensive financial obligations for her 8 year old daughter. 
         Nina has been balancing everything on her teachers salary, but things are tight and there is no room in her budget for all these additional expenses.
She is not able to have any family come from Germany to help due to covid travel restrictions, so we, her friends community in New York and Berlin, are doing all we can to support her through this. 
         This year has not been easy for anyone, if you are able to donate, even a very small amount, It would be soooo appreciated.  If funds are tight, and you can't financially donate, you can check in with her periodically with calls and texts to keep her spirits up. If you are in Brooklyn home cooked meals would be lovely.
