We are Giant Wolf Youth Theatre, based in Tallaght, Dublin. Since 2017, we've been working with young people to make art. We work hard to create a place that is safe and welcoming for all, and to create exciting art with our young members. We have been invited to take part in an international theatre festival called InterTWINed. It's a huge festival that includes groups from all over Europe, including Poland, Germany, France, Estonia and Italy.
We charge as little as possible to make our youth theatre accessible and affordable for young people who live in disadvantaged areas, and provide bursaries to those who can't afford to take part. It's a voluntary role that we do because we love it, and we love the positive effects it has on young people. However, that does mean that we will struggle to afford to take part in this amazing opportunity.
The raised funds will go to paying for flights and other transport, as well as the costs of traveling with a large group like insurance, and of course snacks.
We have a group of 20 students who are working hard on a play already, in the hopes that we'll be able to make the trip and perform in a professional theatre, on an international stage. It's such an amazing chance for the teenagers who are a part of our theatre to travel internationally, see theatre from all over Europe, and to grow as people.
Our youth theatre has a large number of students with autism and other disabilities, as well as a lot of students who are LGBTQIA+. Students who don't often get opportunities like this. They are such wonderful young people and they really deserve this.
Anyone who donates will go into our program for the show we bring to Germany, and we'll keep you all updated with photos, videos and posts about rehearsals and performances!
A donation of even €5 will go some way to help us make this dream a reality. We would be so grateful if you can contribute anything at all. Thank you!
