Let me introduce you to our 5 yr old dog, Winnie (yes, she is a big beagle.) If you know her online or in person, you would know that she is the most loving, goofy, biggest sweetheart who has never met a stranger. Noah and I rescued her on our 3 month anniversary, and instantly knew that she was the perfect addition to our little family!

That being said, the past almost 5 years with Winnie has been a mixed bag. Unfortunately, she has struggled with a mysterious health issue for as long as we can remember. The simplest way to describe it is a chronic gulping/swallowing episode (often referred to as the gulpies) that occurs randomly, which in turn sends her into a panic. In most cases, she does not sleep for hours to days, and in worse scenarios she will make herself sick and takes days to recover. This past year, Winnie's quality of life has taken a big hit as these episodes are becoming more frequent and lasting longer.

We have taken her to many different vets, tried a variety of medications, lifestyle changes and countless other "options" in hopes to find any kind of answer to this ongoing health concern. We have had no diagnoses and no viable treatment plan. Having no concrete explanation for such a horrible, scary situation that is hurting someone you love is an unbearable pain..but Winnie deserves answers and a second chance at a life without this condition.

Working alongside our new vet, the final option is to take her to a Specialty Hospital in Nashville, TN that has access to speciality doctors and specific imaging in hopes of finding a diagnosis. From the information we gathered, we anticipate a variety of tests/procedures that are unfortunately ..a good chunk of change. Since this is the only path we can think of, we realize that Winnie needs a village behind her to get her through these next steps.

Noah and I have never hesitated to do anything in our power to get Winnie a diagnosis over the years, and we also know when we need to ask for help. If you are able, the 3 of us would greatly and forever appreciate any kind of support. Whether it's a donation or a share, this would be a potential life changing opportunity for Winnie. Any answers for us would be better than living a life of never knowing what we can do to help her. Our girl has many more amazing years left in her, and I've never met a dog more in love with life who deserves to live the best one possible.
